Object history
Deutsch: Die Gemeinde Kerken führt mit Genehmigung des Regierungspräsidenten Düsseldorf vom 16. November 1971 und 4. Februar 1972 ein eigenes Wappen, ein eigenes Dienstsiegel, ein eigenes Banner und eine eigene Flagge.
Das Wappen ist redend; die Kirchtürme stehen für die ehemaligen Gemeinden Aldekerk und Nieukerk und die Mispelblüten erinnern an die ehemaligen geldrischen Gemeinden Eyll und Stenden.
English: Granted 16 November 1971. The two churches are canting elements (Kirch = kerk = church) for Aldekerk and Nieukerk. The two roses are the old symbol of Geldern and represent Eyll and Stenden, which were possessions of the dukes of Geldern.
