Tiền decorations Vs. Sapèque d'Honneur

[edit]

@唐吉訶德的侍從: , Tiền decorations are not the same thing as the later French-inspired Sapèque d'Honneur despite having the same name in Classical Chinese, also, neither of them are actually Vietnamese cash coins, they are medals that look like them, which is like calling coin-shaped French medals as "French Framcs" or "Euro coins" which would be inaccurate.

Presentation coins are an ancient Chinese (including Japanese, Korean, Ryukyuan, and Vietnamese) decoration that look like cash coins but aren't cash coins, I plan on writing an article at the English-language Wikipedia about them in the future, but I would advise turning back the changes you made as they misrepresent these three (3) different things as being the same. --Donald Trung 『徵國單』 (No Fake News 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 15:15, 23 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I tried to clear up the confusion by adding separate categories, note for anyone ever reading this in the future, Sapèques d'Honneur have ribbons, Presentation coins don't. --Donald Trung 『徵國單』 (No Fake News 💬) (WikiProject Numismatics 💴) (Articles 📚) 19:36, 23 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
