The closure notice on the door of the public toilets on the Esplanade, East Cowes, Isle of Wight on 1 April 2011, the day the toilets closed. Initially the toilets on Osborne Road were planned to close, however it was later decided that as Osborne Road was closer to the town centre, with higher usage, the toilets on the Esplanade should be closed instead. This, along with other closures across the island was a move to save money as part of funding cuts to local authorities by central government.

Demolition of an old pub on South Street, Newport, Isle of Wight. It will eventually make way for new apartments, however it has taken a long time to even get to the stage of demolition, so construction could still be some way off.

Roadworks in Newport Road, Ventnor, Isle of Wight in March 2011, for the road to be resurfaced. The roadworks were initially scheduled to end on 26 March, however were extended until April. Problems were caused as the closure caused Upper Ventnor to be completely blocked off from lower Ventnor, with the diversion running through Shanklin, making a very short journey incredibly long. Bus services had to run via Whitwell, as seen here, with additional shuttle services running to Wroxall, and no service for Upper Ventnor.
