Ijas Muhammed (born 1 June 1993) is an Indian cinematographer, Travel Photographer and documentary film director known for his work in Unity Yet Diversity. Based out of Doha in Qatar, his work is available online in the name Ijas Muhammed Photography

Early life and career[edit]

Ijas Muhammed studied in the creative atmosphere of University of Delhi, and the friendships formed based on creative pursuits during that period is still the driving factor for him in documentary film making.[1]. The Documentary, "Unity Yet Diversity", by Ijas Muhammed, narrates the story of the discrimination that the North Eastern students in Delhi. As a B.A graduate from Deshbandhu College of University of Delhi, he undertakes many such projects and issues that are neglected by the main stream media. His days as contestant in the reality show "Best Citizen Journalist 3" in Amrita TV opened up many doors for him to learn about visual and technical knowledge in film making.[2]. [3].He started his career as a cameraman in MediaoneTV. Ijas Muhammed acknowledges the exposure he got in Delhi at that very young age for all his achievements. He arrived in Delhi at a time when the political stage of India was undergoing radical changes. He became a witness to many major changes that designed the country's future both at the home front and in the international arena.

Awards and recognitions[edit]

Ijas Muhammed won Saratchandran Memorial Award for the best documentary for his documentary film “Unity Yet Diversity” at Youth Spring Film Festival 2014.[4]. [5] , Best Documentary award in Documentary Film festival Conducted by Doha Youth Center, affiliated to the Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage (MCAH).[6]. [7]. He was selected as candidate for Youth Icon Award by Doha Youth Forum in 2017. Apart from these, the he have also received awards in various other categories including Videography, Film Making and Photography.
