The Phulaguri Dhewa
The Phulaguri Dhewa of 19th century is a true protest against the British.The people of the phulaguri area started a revolution against the British in 1861 and it is considered as the first instance of agraian outbreak in Assam during the 2nd half of the 19th century.Strictly speaking ,this is the first movement of the common people by which the people tried to ventilate their emotions and feelings .The uprising of the people reflected the Economic,Political and Social consciousness of the inhabitation of Phulaguri.
