Hello! I'm a humble WikiGnome who, over here on Commons, likes to add structured data to images - particularly math images.

In addition, I have Wolfram Mathematica, and I occasionally use it to create math images for Commons, In particular, I've formed an image set of plots of parametric surfaces with a specific gradient opacity and color, fading from orange to a ghostly blue.

I always try to provide the source code I used to create these images. Unfortunately, the little gremlin in my brain is scared to death of any sort of copyright (or copyleft), and will constantly scream in terror at the mere sight of it. As such, I'm unlikely to do anything that puts me in contact with copyright or copyleft licensing, lest the gremlin rupture my eardrums with its endless screech.

Current list of the gremlin's evil deeds:

  • Prevented me from publishing the source code of Torus revolution.gif, because I had used a function from Stack Exchange in it (splineCircle from here, which I used to custom-bake the mesh)
  • Unleashed an ultrasonic screech that deterred me from using that same function as a workaround to safely increase the resolution of Torus revolution plot.png, which otherwise mysteriously breaks if made any higher resolution.
  • Ditto to prevent me from fixing SquircleTorus.png, which has broken because I amped up the resolution without noticing the bug.
  • Somehow almost prevented me from linking to that Stack Exchange answer in this list, for... some reason.

Addendum: The gremlin has been vanquished (yippee!), allowing me to provide the source code to Hyperboloid ruled surface animation v1.gif; however, I forgor :skull: the original source code of Torus revolution.gif, and am too lazy to fix the other ones.
