Ich bin freischaffende Fotografin, Dozentin für Fotografie sowie Autorin und habe zwei akademische Abschlüsse erlangt: einen BA «Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences» in Publizistik und einen MA «Master of Arts» in Filmwissenschaft. Seit dem Jahr 2009 publiziere ich neu unter dem Künstlerinnennamen Monica Boirar, weil man meinen bürgerlichen Namen, Beurer, in der englischsprachigen Welt nicht auszusprechen weiss. Schon als kleines Mädchen drückte ich mit dem rechten Zeigefinger – damals allerdings noch nicht auf den Auslöser meiner Fotokamera.

English: I am a freelance photographer, photography lecturer and author and have achieved two academic degrees: a BA «Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences» in journalism and an MA «Master of Arts» in film studies. Since 2009 I have been publishing under the artist name Monica Boirar, because it is difficult to pronounce my real name, Beurer, in the English-speaking world. Even as a little girl, I used my right index finger to press – at that time not yet on the shutter button of my camera.

Français: Je suis photographe indépendante, professeure de photographie et autrice et j'ai obtenu deux diplômes universitaires: un BA «Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences» en journalisme et un MA «Master of Arts» en études cinématographiques. Depuis 2009, je publie sous le nom d'artiste Monica Boirar, car c'est difficile à prononcer mon vrai nom, Beurer, dans le monde anglophone. Même petite fille, j'utilisais mon index droit pour appuyer – à ce moment-là pas encore sur le déclencheur de mon appareil photo.

Italiano: Sono una fotografa freelance, docente di fotografia e autrice e ho conseguito due titoli accademici: un BA «Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences» in giornalismo e un MA «Master of Arts» in studi cinematografici. Dal 2009 pubblico sotto il nome d'artista Monica Boirar, perché è difficile da pronunciare il mio vero nome, Beurer, nel mondo anglofono. Già da piccola usavo il dito indice destro per premere – a quel tempo non ancora sul pulsante di scatto della mia fotocamera.
