Pete Nelson[edit]

Pete Nelson at Temperance River State Park, MN

From Minneapolis, Minnesota

I'm a technical / systems analyst for the City of Saint Paul, Minnesota. My work life keeps me in front of a computer screen much of the time, so in my free time I like to get outside and Hike, Fish and Camp.

I also love baking. "Why spend money on what is not bread, and your wages on what does not satisfy?" (Isaiah 55:2). Making your own bread is pretty easy to do, very cost-effective, and it's rewarding as well. I originally started when I purchased a bread machine at the GoodWill for $7 several years ago. We haven't ordered pizza delivery since that day. Since then I've purchase a new bread machine, wore out the motor in about 12 months (got a lot of use out of that thing!), and have been doing it by hand ever since. It's really pretty simple as long as you have a good mixer, a probe-style thermometer for getting your liquids to 115 degrees, and an oven thermometer to know how hot your oven REALLY is.

Most of the pictures I'll post will be of my camping trips. I seem to like taking more pictures of nature than of friends & family.
