I was a Team Member of the Audacity open source software project for twelve years through to the end of May 2021. I remain as an official emeritus consultant, just doing a lot less work.

I worked on the Audacity QA team doing testing and as the documentation editor on both the Audacity Manual and the Audacity Wiki. I also still work on the Audacity Forum as a forum moderator (where my pseudonym is "waxcylinder").

My initial interest in Audacity came over fifteen years ago when I was converting my LP collection to digital format so that it could be played on my iPod (hence my Forum pseudonym). I started out asking lots of questions on the Audacity Forum when I needed newbie help and then answering them to help others out. From that I was approached to join the Documentation and Support team and eventually got "promoted" to being a full Audacity Team member.

Other interests in my life are SCUBA diving, underwater photography, skiing and motorcycling.
