A little bit about me

ELCOME to my user page. I am Sportsguy17, but feel free to call me whatever makes you happy. I am currently living in the United States living on the Atlantic Coast. I am a high-performing high school boy who is a runner and I dream of a good life. I joined Wikimedia in 2013. I am primarily found on English Wikipedia, but also do a good amount on Commons and Wikidata. My work here includes file uploads, page categorization, participating in deletion debates, and reverting vandalism. I currently have over 2000 edits and dozens of photos uploaded. My "sockpuppets" are Sportzilla and Sportsguy Travelling.

Currently, I am an autopatroller and a file mover on Commons and occasionally use AWB for clean-up. I currently have over 80 photos upload, about 70 photos are my own work and mostly use Cat-a-lot for categorization of files amongst categories and also will use Hot-cat for more direct file categorization.

How I help Commons

I enjoy helping Wikimedia projects, including Commons, Wikidata, and various Wikipedias, and will help anywhere I can, including Meta and other language Wiki's.

Gadgets

I use Hot-cat and Cat-a-lot to do various categorization of media files. I often use Hot-cat to make more minor and smaller changes to categorization, while I use Cat-a-lot to make mass categorization, often categorizing 50-200 media files at once.

Uploads

I upload a wide variety of photos, ranging from cool things I see to vacations. I have uploaded more than 50 photos of my own work, most being taken on an iPhone 5 or iPhone 4S, but some were taken on an iPod Touch or are indeed from Flickr, licensed with a license compatible to upload to Flickr. I have uploaded over a dozen Flickr photos, most Doug Kerr from Flickr, who licenses many works under CC-BY-SA 2.0, one of few license types compatible with Commons and is also very hard to find on Flickr.

Deletion Requests

Correct, I get involved in these sometimes, often on pretty easy ones and have closed a few obvious "keeps".

Community discussions

As deletion requests, I occasionally get involved in these, too. I always !vote in RfX's and will occasionally help out at the admin noticeboards.

Vandalism

Let me be honest here: I oppose vandalism and I revert vandalism as soon as I see it. I oppose vandalism anywhere on Wikimedia projects, where I have used STiki, Twinkle, the undo button, and Rollback to revert it. However, I always try to go easy on vandals and who knows, maybe they'll want to become good-faith contributors, so being polite and open is also important.

When not on Commons

Editing here on Wikimedia projects occur in my sporadic spare time. When not on Commons, I am often in classed doing my studies, or I am running. Yes, I am a long-distance runner. It is a great way to relax and eases stress off of me. I currently am a five and a half minute miler and can run a five kilometer race in about seventeen minutes. I can run up to 15 miles at a time. I could also be with family and/or friends and having a good time....remember to give real life some attention as well.
