Hi R-41, I noticed your work on the political flags gallery and I'd like to make a proposition: Let's exclude current sovereign-state flags as well as current official flags of country subdivisions from this gallery! The rationale for this is that practically every single national and regional flag could be interpreted as nationalist in some sense. They also have separate galleries of their own. Let's try and limit it to explicitly nationalist flags, including historical sovereign-state designs that still are used by such movements. --Himasaram 06:12, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

This, what you say, most likely colouring is not a fact, because this was a union of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes that just changed its name from Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes. I agree that FotW suggested dubious colours. I have not seen such CMYK 100-70-0-0 for blue nor 0-90-75-5 for red. But those colours are just aproximations from only one book. FotW use aproximations also they use B++ (RGB 0-0-153) for blue and R (RGB 255-0-0) for red.

I have not asked for the colours to be changed, but simply asked to leave them as they were. There is no need to claim that those colours came from some modern sources (FRY, SCG or SRB).

If you do not understand the Constitutional system of Croatia simply say and someone will come to answer you. The Parliament of Croatia is the only institution who can define the Flag and the CoA. The Government is not the institution which can can do anything. Your practice to go ahead with changes simply because you saw something in front of some institutions is not a correct practice because the vexillologist cannot depend on institutions do do the work, they (sometimes must do the work themselves). You have not discussed the change, and your changes will be reverted. The discussion in which several users participated have been held and a compromise have been found. So your help is not neccessary if you want to contribute from one source only. That picture from the Government is even not the property of the Government but one single person - G. Bartram (if I remember correctly).

Also distinguished FotW members would comment any action which takes in account the Governmental used variations of some Flag or other symbols as not qualified to participate in any discussion on FotW. See Image:Flag of Serbia CMYK.svg as an example of how misleading can be the statements of the National Assembly of Serbia concerning that graphical standard (done by someone who did not present his/her name and surname). Do you want we go that way and move that image to the Flag of Serbia.svg. I did not hear you, you said NO; I thought as much. This is a clear case of revenge towards me. I would advise against your futille attempts to start a meaningless discussion about the one source you found. If you meant discuss on the basis of one source only then that discussion is pointless. However I will go along and remind you that I have helped the Image talk:Flag of Serbia.svg in solving its colour problem and have also helped the Image talk:Flag of Slovenia.svg. Why are you doing this - it is beyond my understanding. I understand you wish for the Russian flag to be accurate color wise. The problem is the following; the last website you used as a source, they get their colors wrong a lot. A lot of the Pantone suggestions are either coming from a French flag book or have no source at all. Hi R-41, I don't think that your modification is totally wrong, but IMHO I think the colour is too much brighter and destaturated. See this images:

That kind of discussion is simply not right. I have never insulted you and you know it. I have every right to call certain uploads (better said updates) as baseless. Your tactic is not going to work on me because threats lead to nothing. Your attempt are clear to every single man, woman and child who lived in Yugoslavia. This attempts are not permissable and could lead to OR. If you are so sure of your actions then explain them. You should not judge users but their arguments. I do not judge you but the lack of arguments on your part. You are well aware that colours of the Serbian flag have not been constant during all time and time periods. Look at the last few changes of the Image:Flag of Serbia.svg. Your attempt to use your own "logic" that those Yugoslav colours of the past should look the same as today (modern) Serbian colours are un-encyclopaedical and based on your hunches and "gut feeling". This is not a permissable approach according to any Wiki policy and could be called "historical revisionism" at least and "orriginal research" at most. Sorry, I've reverted the image because the photo you use as example shows a new decalcomania of the original coat of arms (a restored aircraft photographed at the museum at Vigna di Valle). I have a photo of the original coat from an old scrap of the tail (also this from the museum at Vigna di Valle) that have the colours I've used. However your colours can be right tinking at the discoloration of the time passed, so I'm not sure that I've done the right thing reverting the image. --F l a n k e r 20:09, 14 April 2008 (UTC)

Mhmm, I like your modifications, but I read from the Royal Decree that the base of the crown is adorned by 8 big saphires (5 of them visible), each one circled by 12 gems. The type of the gem, in heraldry, is indicated expecially for give the colour. I found this image:3521 - Milano - Galleria Vittorio Emanuele - Corona Savoia - Foto Giovanni Dall'Orto, 22-June-2007.jpg, that shows almost blue saphires. I do not know why again changing the colours First you changed the FRY/SCG period to match the presumed colours of the kingdom era then you are changing the SFRY era to match FRY/SCG and in the same time try to change SR Serbia and SR Montenegro to match all those colours and in the future to match the colours of the Flag of Serbia. This attempt is void and I beg of you not to impose on this community your dubious sources for flag colours.

Let me remind you that firstly you changed the kingdom era colours to match the flag of Serbia, then you tryed that tactics once more (with the new and correct colours of Serbia) then you tryed to impose on all the flags of the former socialist republics of the former SFRY the same colours and now this (what I have described above). Why are you doing such unsourced work?

OK, I can't wait to see your work! For the name of the image I prefer Image:Flag_of_Prime_Minister_of_Italy_(1922-1943).svg, but the name you suggest it's OK too. I think you don't need autorizations becouse the licence on Commons all permit modifications of the original images, but if not so you have my autorization. I think you misunderstand the rules of Wikimedia. Wikipedia and Commons are not censored and subjects like pornography (for instance) is an encyclopedical subject as any other one. So it could be illustrated if we have any pictures that would respect both laws and rules of Wikimedia. Therefore vulgarity is not a criteria of deletion. Also the creation of such a category is not a correct way to inform administrators about hypothetical abuse. --TwoWings * to talk or not to talk... 22:33, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
Also, pictures like that one can't be described as "vulgar". It's a caricature, it's criticism. You may think it's "too much" and you may disagree with the POV of the drawing. But banning such picture would mean there's a total lack of neutrality on Wikimedia projects. Wikimedia is not made to judge but to inform people about reality and the diversity of our world. I personally don't think that Wikipedia is a place for the depiction of pornography and demeaning material. > you're not the only one here and you're not the master of WP. Don't place an item into a category and its parent (e.g., Put it in Chocolates, not Chocolates and Sweets)

Hi R-41, you keep adding Category:War criminals to Image:Evstafiev-Radovan Karadzic 3MAR94.jpg, but Category:Radovan Karadžić is already in the category Category:War criminals, that's over-categorization (see the picture on the right). I removed the category. This is besides the fact that he isnt convicted (yet) and shouldnt be placed in that category at all. Multichill (talk) 07:31, 3 August 2008 (UTC)

A mistake from developer Tim Starling resulted in the accidental deletion of 496 full-resolution images, which means that the original version is gone, but not the thumb version. A list of the affected images at Wikimedia Commons was made by PatrícaR and can be found here. As one of your images was found on the list, I'm asking you if you could re-upload the image Flag of Germany 1933.svg from your hard disk, with the comment Restoring image, see [http://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/commons-l/2008-September/004148.html].

Hi R-41. About the Royal flag of Italy there is no need to change it. About the Image:Flag_of_Prime_Minister_of_Italy_(1927-1943).svg, you can do all the modifications you think is necessary, but I've other sources that illustrate the flag as I've done Image:Flag of Mussolini.svg like «Raccolta delle bandiere e delle insegne nazionali» (collection of national flags and insigna), Ministero della Marina (Ministry of the Navy) or «Almanacco navale 1943» of the Royal Navy of Italy. --F l a n k e r (talk) 09:11, 29 September 2008 (UTC)

Hi R-41. There are about sixty millions of version of the flag's crown you can see it there: http://www.marina.difesa.it/storia/musei/musei002.asp (the flags are used for official naval and war use -there are also republican flags-, tell me if you find two same crown!). So there is not a "correct" version or a "more used" version. We, in it.wiki, like this version of the flag. I don't know wich kind of document it is, I just find it times ago. But I have many photos of official cerimonies that represents the crown in so many different ways. There is not an offical crown design. I like your flag, upload it with another name, if someone wants to use it, he can do. From the discussion that I've started is general opinion to use the Savoy blue (it is also the national colour of Italy). The only aspect to clear is which one to use. Do you have some source to find the best rapresentation of this colour? F l a n k e r (talk) 22:55, 6 July 2009 (UTC)
Got it! In all the laws and decrees of the Kingdom the colour around the coat of arms of the flag is described as azure (light blue): Royal Decree of the 25 march 1860, Royal Decree no. 2072 of the 24 september 1923 and many others.
You've find azure-blue, that is an intermediate colour, not azure. Anyhow, in Italian azzurro indicates always a light blue (otherwise it is said blu, that is darken, or celeste that is more lighten [19]). --F l a n k e r (talk) 10:39, 10 July 2009 (UTC)
