English: The Very Large Telescope (VLT) is the flagship facility of ESO, the European Southern Obersvatory and one of the world's most advanced and most productive astronomical facility, consisting of four Unit Telescopes each with an 8-metre class primary mirror. The VLT is located at the main peak of Paranal Observatory in northern Chile, together with the 2.6-metre VLT Survey telescope (VST) and four movable 1.8-metre Auxiliary Telescopes (ATs). The four units of the VLT can also work together and form a combined, larger interferometer telescope, the VLTI, allowing astronomers to see more details.
