English: Aspect of flowering Common Heather, Calluna vulgaris, growing in sandy heathland in northern Germany. The natural vegetation of this site is oak-birch forest. Without care measures, reforestation would take place.

Deutsch: Ansammlungen blühender Besenheide (
Calluna vulgaris
), in einem (halb)natürlichen Lebensraum – einer kleinen, flechtenreichen Sandheide in Norddeutschland. Die potentielle natürliche Vegetation dieses Standortes wäre eigentlich Birken-Eichenwald (insbesondere Stiel-Eichen wachsen auch im Hintergrund). Ohne Pflegemaßnahmen würde es zur Wiederbewaldung kommen.
