Anhui University of Science and Technology was built in 1945 and is the top 1 university within Huainan city. It is a university that includes a comprehensive education system covering varies departments like engineering, medical science, business management，linguistic and so forth, and the Engineering Blasting is the dominant major of it, which is famous around China and has contributed to many important engineering projects. In 2017, AUST moved the whole campus ( including three different school districts) from the central of the city to the suburb covering an area of 3129 acres, and became the largest campus of Anhui province.
