The Mahadeva temple of Avittathur (അവിട്ടത്തൂർ ശിവക്ഷേത്രം) is a 10th-century Hindu temple with Chera architecture. It is notable for being one of the several historic circular plan Hindu temples that follows the ancient Sanskrit manuscripts on Hindu temple design.

The temple includes a prakara, namaskara mandapam, chuttambalam, vilakkumadam and a srikovil vimanam. A Vattezhuthu inscription near the entrance of the garbhagriya helps date this complex to 937 CE (the temple must have existed before this date). In local tradition, the temple is linked to Agastya and Parasurama. Like major historic temples, the reliefs and artwork in this temple include Shiva, Vishnu and Devi traditions.
