Chimbas es un departamento de la provincia de San Juan.(Argentina). Se encuentra ubicado en el centro sur de la misma a orillas del río San Juan, donde predomina un paisaje completamente urbanizado, hacia el oeste, ya que es un departamento que conforma el Gran San Juan, y agrícola hacia el este. Caracterizado por su importante actividad industrial, siendo la más importante de la provincia. Chimbas ocupa tan sólo un 0,06% del total de la superficie provincial, lo que lo convierte en una de las juridicciones menos extensas.

Chimbas is a department of the province of San Juan .(Argentina). It is located in the south of the center along the Rio San Juan, which is predominantly a landscape completely urbanized west, as it is a department that makes up the Gran San Juan, and agricultural to the east. Characterized by its major industrial activity, the most important of the province. Chimbas occupies only 0.06% of total provincial area, making it one of the less extensive jurisdictions.
