Cossie Snyder's opened at the northwest corner of North Seventh and Washington Street (502 North Seventh Street) in 1936. Owned by George "Cossie" Snyder, Snyder was born in Coplay in June, 1890 and opened a lunch room in Northampton as his first business. He later became owner of the building in which it was housed before moving to Laurys to become the owner of the the Laury's Hotel in 1922. In 1936 he moved to Allentown where he and his wife Arlene and opened Cossie Snyders Corner. It became one of Allentown's best known restaurants. George Synder died in March 1955 due to a traffic accident, and his wife continued to operate the restaurant until 1972 when she retired.

The restaurant was sold to Robert Geletkanych, who continued to operate the restaurant as Cossie Snyder's until 2005 when he also retired. It was sold and renamed Ricolo's Restaurant. In 2018 it was again sold and is now known as the 7th Street Family Restaurant.
