The Type 145 is a racing car created to try to win the "million challenge" in 1937 : it was a question of beating, on the circuit of Montlhéry, the record of speed over 200 kilometers then held by an Italian automobile, the winner earning a million francs. René Dreyfus, for the "Écurie Bleue" own Grand Prix team of Lucy Schell allied to Delahaye, won the challenge with 146.508 Km/h.
