English: Linden Forbes Sampson Burnham (20 February 1923–6 August 1985) was a Guyanese political leader and leader of Guyana from 1964 until his death, as the Prime Minister from 1964 to 1980 and as President from 1980 to 1985.
Français : Forbes Burnham (Georgetown, 1923 - Georgetown, 1985) est un homme politique guyanien. Représentant de la population noire du pays et chef du People's National Congress (fondé en 1955), il remporte, avec l'aide des autorités britanniques, l'élection de 1964. Il négocie à Londres l'indépendance de son pays, qu'il obtient en mai 1966. Il proclame la République en 1970. En 1980 il est élu président de la République mais meurt cinq ans plus tard dans l'exercice de ses fonctions.
