The Forest Hill Midtown Cemetery is located at 1661 Elvis Presley Boulevard Memphis, Tennessee 38106. The first of the three cemeteries, Forest Hill Midtown/Forest Hill South/Forest Hill East, Forest Hill Midtown was opened in 1888. The cemetery began with 160 acres, but in 1960 the US Postal Service acquired 40 undeveloped acres. Forest Hill's first mausoleum was built in 1915, at first it was only available to the wealthy and famous citizens of Memphis, this includes the temporary entombment of Elvis Presley in 1977 while permanent entombment was being prepared at Graceland.
