Gillman Barracks at 9 Lock Road, Singapore 108973, is a contemporary art centre. Formerly a military camp comprising 14 buildings, it was set up in 1936 and named after General Sir Webb Gillman (1870–1933), a World War I British Army general. After British forces withdrew from Singapore, the camp was taken over by the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) in August 1971, which used it until the 1990s. In 1996 the site was renamed Gillman Village and turned over to commercial purposes. The original name of Gillman Barracks was restored to the site in 2010.
