1937 Named: CHRISTIAN RADICH for the Oslo Sail Training Ship Society. Named for Christian Radich, an officer, managing director, and ship owner (1822-1889) from Kristiania (Oslo), who donated the money to build a ship. Flag: Norway
1940 Seized by the Germans and used as a depot ship for crew of submarines
1945 Hit by allied planes during an attack on Flensburg in Germany and sunk in the habour.
1947 Restored and re-rigged at a cost of 70,000 pounds until 1947 at her building shipyard in Norway, re-started her career as a training vessel.
1956-57 Became famous as an adventure ship because of the Cinerama film "Windjammer" and later as one of the stars in the TV series "The Onedin Line".
1980-83 General overhaul in at the Framnæs Mekaniske Verksted. The "Skoleskipet Christian Radich" foundation has taken over the management from the Ministry of Education.
1999 On the charter market as well as sailing with paying trainees to foreign ports on summer trips, participating in Tall Ships Races and large sail events in various European ports.
1999/2000 and 2000/2001 Extensive restoration of the hull in winter.
