The Kingston was built in 1821 by Richard Pearson & co in Thorne, South Yorkshire. In 1824 she was sold to Danish owners and became the Prindsesse Wilhelmine. In 1844 her engines were taken out and she was rebuilt as a three-masted schooner (or barque) and named Hydra. In March 1870 she was wrecked, but later repaired and then sold to Swedish owners in October of that year, renamed Maria Karolina. On record until 1877.
