English: The building was built by Mariano Saavedra (son of Cornelio Saavedra) in mid XIX century. After his death in 1884, the house was acquired by Mariano Unzué (1836–1906), to be used as a summer residence, although he would later live there permanently. After the passing of Unzué and his wife Mercedes (1843–1916), the palace was inhabited by their sons until 1937 when the national government expropriated the house along with all properties around. The palace would be inhabited by some presidents of Argentina (being Juan D. Perón the last) until the Revolución Libertadora of 1955. One year later, the palace was demolished.
