Dyma ganolfan fasnachol ac economaidd y dyffryn, bellach wedi edwino rhyw gymaint ers agor ffordd osgoi heibio pentrefi'r cwm. Yma hefyd mae meddygfeydd, y banc lleol, llyfrgell, canolfan dechnoleg, canolfan hamdden Plas Silyn, fferyllydd a stad ddiwydiannol. Cydnabyddir fel un o'r cymunedau Cymreiciaf yn y byd, gyda mwy na 90% yn gallu'r Gymraeg yma.
English: Penygroes is a large village in north-west Wales. The village is located to the south of Caernarfon and north of Porthmadog along the A487. Penygroes' population stands at 1,680, of which 88% are Welsh-speaking, making it one of the most predominantly Welsh-speaking areas of the country.
