The S & G Cafe was located on the southeast corner of North Fifth and Allen streets in Allentown. It was opened in 1949 by Joseph Stinner, Jr. and Larry Geiger, former Neuweiler brewery workers. They had purchased the former Arlington Hotel, which had opened in June 1897, and whose owner, Harvey J Christman, passed in June 1949. The S & G Cafe offered pizza, seafood and other short-order meals along with beers and aperitifs. Over the years, the cafe sponsored numerous industrial softball teams in the area.
It closed in 1979 when the owner retried. Stinner passed in 1997.
