English: The Temple Bar is the historic dividing line between the City of London and the Liberty of Westminster. The Temple Bar Gate was originally built there in 1672, replacing an earlier wooden gate. It was disassembled in 1878, and replaced with the Temple Bar Memorial in 1880. The Temple Bar Gate was subsequently rebuilt (twice) in other locations.
