Victoria Tunnel runs from Edge Hill railway station to an open cutting at Byrom Street/Fontenoy Street, where it becomes the Waterloo Tunnel. It is 2706 yards long and opened in 1849; it is 26 ft wide, to take a double track. Several ventilators are still visible along its route.
