English: Wat Amphawan Chetiyaram is a significant royal temple as it was built by an ancestor of Queen Amarindra (Nak), the queen consort of King Rama I. Thus, Amphawa subdistrict has been of significance to all kings of Chakri Dynasty.

The ubosot was built during the reign of King Rama I, and the major renovation was carried out in 1995. Inside the ubosot displays mural paintings narrating biography of King Rama II, by order of H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn, and the princesses herself also painted a portrait of King Rama II.

The temple also displays a prang containing relics of King Rama II, and Song Tham Throne Hall which was presented the Architectural Conservation Award in 1995, and houses a Buddha statue, in subduing mara posture, sitting on a lotus-shaped pedestal painted in a Chinese pattern, and a replica the Buddha footprint.
