Deutsch: Der Westbahnhof in Wien bildet als Kopfbahnhof den Anfangspunkt der heutigen österreichischen Westbahn. Der Bahnhof wurde am 15. Dezember 1858 anlässlich der Inbetriebnahme der „k.k. priv. Kaiserin Elisabeth-Bahn“ von Wien Westbahnhof über Linz Hauptbahnhof nach Linz Südbahnhof feierlich eröffnet. Das nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg errichtete Aufnahmegebäude der Architekten Hartinger, Schlarbaum und Wöhnhart steht unter Denkmalschutz.

English: Wien Westbahnhof station (i.e. Western station) is the easternmost terminus of Austrian Westbahn (West railway). It was inaugurated 15 December 1858. The station building by architects Hartinger, Schlarbaum and Wöhnhart which was erected after World War II is a listed building.
