William John Cooke (Dublin ll April 1797 – Darmstadt 6 April 1865) was a line engraver living in England 1798–1840 and in Darmstadt 1840–1865. He was trained by his uncle George Cooke who was an engraver and the brother of William Bernard Cooke. He received the Society of Arts gold medal for improvements to steel engraving (1826).
