English: Levinus Vincent formed one of the greatest Wunderkammern (Cabinet of Curiosities) in Holland in the 17th/18th centuries containing animals, shells, coral and marine plants, minerals, insects, ethnographical objects, and a supporting library. Vincent originally published two catalogues of his collections - Wondertooneel der Nature - Tome 1 in 1706 and Tome 2 in 1715. These, together with a later combined (but abbreviated) book charting the collection, are available from the Universities of Strasbourg (source for these images).
