Ústřední Matice školská (approx. Central School Foundation) was a Czech foundation, established 1880 with the purpose of opening and maintaining minority Czech-language schools, mainly in border areas of Bohemia. In 1880s to 1890s, it was considered the second most important Czech national institution after the National Theater in Prague. ÚMŠ was shut down in 1943 and officially dissolved in 1948.
