As the uploader of the photo in question, I must say I'm confused by the loose criteria needed to erase someone's effort. I happen to have contacted the owner of the photo (Nemanja Maras) and asked him to make the Flickr account, in keeping with the suggested modus operandi when uploading images to Wikimedia Commons. It has been a week's wait, but I made sure I did everything by the book. I don't understand how a fresh account is automatic grounds for deletion, when Wikimedia Commons specifically advises users to create Flickr accounts and upload the materials there, so as to license them properly. I am happy to provide additional proof, or to advise the owner of the photo how he can also own his Flickr account, please advise on how best to do that.

EDIT: substituted some spur-of-the-moment inflammatory content, with a more constructive one. Dribflow (talk) 19:54, 3 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

To try and make my position clear - I feel that I broke no rules by uploading a photo for which all necessary permissions have already been given, per WikiCommons guidelines relating to uploading material to Flickr for licensing purposes. If there's doubt regarding the identity of the person who gave those permissions, I think such complaints should be submitted on the site in question (Flickr), wherein the owner of the work could easily clear any and all suspicions pertaining to the issue. By submitting the deletion request here, the actual owner of the work is being put outside the discussion he should be a part of. If I am missing something here, do let me know. I don't understand why this image was deleted, with no explanation whatsoever. Anyone care to give me some pointers, to tell me what I did wrong? @Gbawden How can you delete a file without specifying why the file was deleted? How can I correct a mistake, if I don't know what it is? Dribflow (talk) 18:51, 10 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
