Summary[edit]

Description
English: This is a fault-tolerant control loop of discrete-event systems with input-output automata. The control loop consists of a faulty plant and a nominal controller which becomes unable to achieve its goal due to the fault f. The latter is diagnosed based on the input events v and the output event w. The fault f triggers a reconfiguration of the nominal controller. As a result, a new control law is obtained for the reconfigured controller. In this example, the solution is to avoid the faulty transition by making going through state 2.
