DescriptionSeptimius Severus Secular Games.jpg |
Septimius Severus. AD 193-211.
From the Robert Kutcher Collection. This issue was struck to celebrate the secular games held in Rome in 204 AD. Although this reverse legend is previously unknown on silver issues of Septimius, it is known on his sestertii, as well as aurei of Caracalla (RIC IV 76). The reverse type is the same as that known on the more common COS III LVDOS SAECVL FEC issue (RIC IV 257). |
