Summary

[edit]
Description "As Could Be" Old Bank of Toronto; Artist: Paulette Phillips. The derelict Bank of Toronto at 205 Yonge Street strikes one as an architectural anomaly. Built in 1905 of Lennox design, the austere neo-classical today seems to be a sad symbol of modern decay. Inside, a three-dimensional animation projected onto fog in an immersive sight and sound piece. Based on the 1917 Vladmir Tatlin sculpture 'The Monument to the Third International' [never actually built] it represents a utopian symbol of technology working in harmony with the force of labor. Presented in this manner, it's a ghost of hopes and dreams.
