Description
Svenska: Åsbräcka kyrka, som ligger norr om Lilla Edet i norra Lilla Edets kommun. Kyrkogården ligger på en markerad höjd och därav namnet Åsbräcka, som betyder åsbacke. Under medeltiden var kyrkans föregångare helgad åt Sankt Johannes och kallades följaktligen Sankt Johannis kyrka (Johannis är genitiv av Johannes på latin). Några kilometer nordost om kyrkan ligger samhället Sjuntorp söder om Trollhättan i Trollhättans kommun.

Åsbräcka socken ingick i Flundre härad, dit även räknades Fors socken med Sjuntorp, liksom Fuxerna socken med Lilla Edet (som ligger söder om Åsbräcka).
