[edit]DescriptionÉgypte, Kôm Ombo, Musée du Crocodile, momies de crocodiles (49784649258).jpg | Le crocodile occupe une belle place dans la civilisation égyptienne ancienne. Ce reptile “aux pattes reposées” et à la “gueule terrifiante” y était vénéré, associé à Sobek, dieu de l'eau et de la fertilité. Sa présence dans les eaux du Nil était signe de crue particulièrement favorable aux récoltes. Sont exposées dans le musée, une quarantaine de momies de crocodiles, d’1 m 50 à plus de 5 m de long, ainsi qu’une collection d’oeufs, de stèles et de statues en bois ou en granit représentant le dieu Sobek. |
