Ελληνικά: Στο Ηραίο της Σάμου βρίσκονται και τα ερείπια του ομώνυμου ναού της αρχαιότητας, ο οποίος ήταν αφιερωμένος στην Ήρα.

Χαρακτηριστική εικόνα από το Ηραίο είναι η μια μοναδική κολώνα που παραμένει όρθια.

Η περιοχή του Ηραίου ήταν αρχαιότατος τόπος θρησκευτικής λατρείας, κάτι που φαίνεται από το γεγονός ότι στην περιοχή υπάρχουν ερείπια από τουλάχιστον 4 ναούς (Εκατόμπεδος Α' - 8ος αιώνας π.Χ., Εκατόμπεδος Β' - 7ος αιώνας π.Χ., ο ναός των Ροίκου και Θεοδώρου - 6ος αιώνας π.Χ., ο ναός με τη μορφή που σώζεται σήμερα - της εποχής του τυράννου Πολυκράτη 538-522 π.Χ., ναοί ρωμαϊκών χρόνων).

Ο Ηρόδοτος αναφέρει ότι το Ηραίο της Σάμου ήταν ο μεγαλύτερος ναός στην Ελλάδα. Είναι δίπτερος ιωνικού ρυθμού, με 155 γιγάντιες κολώνες.

Χαρακτηριστική για το επίπεδο της κατασκευής είναι η ύπαρξη δικτύου πήλινων αγωγών για την αποχέτευση των υδάτων της βροχής.
English: The Heraion of Samos was a large sanctuary to the goddess Hera, in the southern region of Samos, Greece, 6 km southwest of the ancient city, in a low, marshy river basin near the sea. The Late Archaic Heraion of Samos was the first of the gigantic free-standing Ionic temples, but its predecessors at this site reached back to the Geometric Period of the 8th century BC,[1] or earlier.[2] The site of temple's ruins, with its sole standing column, was designated a joint UNESCO World Heritage Site, along with the nearby Pythagoreion in 1992.
