Українська: Незаплямований африканський равлик (Lissachatina immaculata Lamarck, 1822) більш відомий за синонімом (Achatina immaculata Lamarck, 1822) — вид дуже великих наземних равликів, що дихають повітрям, відноситься до родини наземних легеневих черевоногих молюсків Ахатінід (Achatinidae Swainson, 1840). "Immaculata" буквально означає "без плями", переносно "бездоганний". Малось на увазі, що равлику, як гермафродиту, для розмноження не є обов'язковою така брудна річ як секс. Але сучасні дослідження свідчать, що приплід від статевих стосунків між різними особами, більш життєстійкий ніж приплід від однієї особи. При статевих контактах роль самки відіграє більший за розмірами равлик. При однакових розмірах можливе обопільне запліднення.
Природний ареал виду – Південна Африка. Молодь поїдає свіжі овочі, фрукти, зелень, Старі особи віддають перевагу гнилій їжі. Равлики є джерелом нежирного м'яса, крім того, використовуються для пілінгу в косметології. Люди рознесли, випадково та спеціально, равликів роду Lissachatina по усіх тропіках та субтропіках. Місцями ахатіни стали сільськогосподарськими шкідниками, особливо на плантаціяї цукрової тростини. На території України природні умови несприятливі для проживання африканських равликів у природі. Вони утримуються як домашні тварини, розводяться для потреб косметології та на м'ясо.English: Lissachatina immaculata is a species of very large, air-breathing land snail, a terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusk in the family Achatinidae Swainson, 1840. "Immaculata" means " immaculate". It was implied that a snail, like a hermaphrodite, did not need such a dirty thing as sex to reproduce. But modern research shows that offspring from sexual intercourse between different individuals are more viable than offspring from one individual. During sexual intercourse, the role of the female is played by a larger snail. At the same sizes mutual insemination is possible.
This species occurs in Southeastern Africa. Young individual eat fresh vegetables, fruits, greens, Older individual prefer rotten food. Snails are a source of lean meat, in addition, are used for peeling in cosmetology. People spread, accidentally and on purpose, snails of the genus Lissachatina in all tropics and subtropics. In some places, achatinas have become agricultural pests, especially on sugar cane plantations. On the territory of Ukraine, natural conditions are unfavorable for African snails to live in nature.
