Русский: На микрофотографии изображены магнитные игольчатые наночастицы диоксида хрома (CrO2), полученные методом гидротермального синтеза в присутствии малых модифицирующих добавок олова (Sn) и сурьмы (Sb).
Частицы собраны в форме яйца, что обусловлено их высокими магнитными характеристиками. Этот материал может применяться в устройствах магнитной записи и спиновой электронике. Микрофотография получена с помощью низковакуумного сканирующего электронного микроскопа JSM-6480LV (Япония) с увеличением x150000. Электронный микроскоп позволяет получать изображение объектов с максимальным увеличением до млн. раз, что невозможно для обычного, оптического микроскопа, в который человек может посмотреть глазами. В отличие от оптического микроскопа, где используется световой поток, в электронном микроскопе изображение получается с помощью пучка электронов с энергиями 200 эВ — 400 кэВ и более.
