Description
Српски / srpski: Храм je посвећен Рођењу Светог Јована Крститеља,
  • Некада је био посвећен Рођењу пресвете Богородице,
  • Налази се на обронцима планине Јелице, у близини Чачка,
  • Као оснивачи помињу се браћа Мрњавчевићи, у време пре Маричке битке,
  • Неки аутори сматрају да га је основао Свети Јован Стјенички и Лештијански,
  • Некада је био велики монашки центар, са развијеном преписивачком традицијом,
  • Историја манастира везана је за долазак кир Јована Лештијанског за игумана, после боравка на Светој Гори,
  • Рушили су га Турци у својим походима, а страдао је 1941. године када су Немци бомбардовали манастирске конаке у којима је боравила војска,
  • Године 1462, Турци су запалили манастир, побили монахе и убили игумана Јована,
  • Мошти светитеља откривене су при архитектонским истраживањима 1950. године, и данас се налазе у ћивоту, са десне стране од улаза у цркву,
