Description

Монастырь основан братией Чудова монастыря в 1700-х годах на месте уничтоженного в Смуту Николо-Берлинского погоста, есть мнение о проживании тут иноков и в XVI—XVII веках. В 1770 году упразднён, но в 1779 году восстановлен митрополитом Платоном (Левшиным). В 1829 году, после прославления чудотворного образа Лобзание Христа Иудою, стал одним из богатейших монастырей Подмосковья. В середине XIX века были выстроены или перестроены ограда с башнями, келейные корпуса. Многоярусная колокольня сооружена в 1895—1899 годы. Закрыт в 1920 году. С 1972 года занят психиатрической больницей N 16 города Москвы (для больных туберкулёзом). В начале 2000-х годов часть зданий возвращена верующим, вновь открыт на восточной части старой территории в 2007 году. Идут реставрационные и восстановительные работы.
