Русский: Электрохромные устройства - оптически прозрачная в исходном состоянии система, способная обратимо изменять степень светопропускания при подаче на неё небольшого электрического напряжения. Такие электрохромные устройства являются разновидностью так называемых «умных окон» широко применяются для архитектурного остекления больших площадей в строительстве, для тонирования стекол в авто- и авиапромышленности, а также для затемнения витрин. Представленный волшебный процесс изменения окраски окна — электрохромный эффект — связан с обратимым контролируемым изменением прозрачности конструкции под действием электрического тока благодаря протеканию обратимой окислительно-восстановительной реакции.
English: Electrochromic devices are an optically transparent system in the initial state, which is capable of reversibly changing the transmittance when a small electrical voltage is applied to it. Such electrochromic devices are a variety of so-called “smart windows” are widely used for architectural glazing of large areas in construction, for tinting windows in the automotive and aircraft industry, as well as for dimming display windows. This “magical” process of changing the color of a window – the electrochromic effect – deals with a reversible controlled change the transparency of a structure under the action of an electric current due to a reversible redox reaction.
