Description

Полевая "секретная" гаубица образца 1753 года системы П. И. Шувалова. Ствол бронзовый. Калибр 95х207 мм. Длина 162 см. Масса 491 кг. Изготовлена в 1753 году в Москве. После успешных испытаний гаубицы сенат приказал "хранить в арсенале за печатью, дабы имеющаяся в ней инвенция, кроме наружности, никому открыта быть не могла". Дальность стрельбы 532 м.

Идея создания гаубицы, специально предназначенной для стельбы картечью была предложена П. И. Шуваловым. Разработку нового орудия осуществлили майор Мусин-Пушкин и пушечный мастер Михаил Степанов.
