Русский: фонтан: площадь Карла Маркса, 2, Кыштым, Челябинская область

Чугунный фонтан в Кыштыме — историческая достопримечательность города, сохранившаяся с середины XIX-го века. Изначально композиция представляла собой несколько чаш различного диаметра, установленных строго горизонтально друг над другом, благодаря чему, вода плавными каскадами ниспадала в самую глубокую из них, разместившуюся в подножии сооружения. Преломленные о водную завесу солнечные лучи, придавали прозрачным струям необычайный оттенок, переливающийся множеством цветов, отчего фонтан прозвали Радужным. Несомненно, изюминкой всей композиции стал водовод, увенчанный головой грифона на длинной изогнутой шее.

К сожалению, даже столь живописный и незаурядный монумент, со временем пришел в упадок. Годами проезжающие мимо автомобили разрушали грунт вокруг фонтана, что, в конечном итоге, привело к повреждению артерий, снабжавших его влагой. С тех пор огромные чаши, некогда полные прохладной журчащей воды, опустели и высохли.
