Description
English: Makhoul Dam. The Makhoul Dam is located at the confluence of the smaller Zab rivers and the Tigris River in Al-Baiji in Salah Al-Din Governorate. The storage area of the dam will exceed 3 billion cubic meters, and the dam will provide nearly 20,000 jobs. The project is now being carried out by the Iraqi Al-Rafidain Company, and it is considered the largest project after 2003

The project is scheduled to be completed in 2024

The dam will provide electric power and reduce the risk of flooding in the Tigris River governorates
العربية: سد مكحول ، يقع سد مكحول على مجرى التقاء نهري دجلة والزاب الاصغر في محافظة صلاح الدين تحديداً قضاء البيجي ، بسعة تخزينية تصل الى ٣.٣ مليار متر مكعب ، كما سيوفر السد قرابة ال20.000 فرصة ، وستجرف بحيرة السد قرابة ال٤٦٤ وحدة سكنية ، يتم الآن انشاء المشروع بواسطة شركة الرافدين ويعتبر من اضخم المشاريع بعد عام 2003 كما من المقرر اكمال المشروع في عام 2024 حيث سينتج الطاقة الكهربائية للمحافظة ويقلل من خطر الفيضان في محافظات دجلة
