Description
English: The "Semsmya" instrument is an authentic cultural and civilizational heritage that pulsates with enthusiasm and life, consisting of a set of copper strings tied to wooden keys, it carries with it a long history with the canal cities in Egypt and is a local Egyptian stringed instrument that has its roots in ancient Egypt as a pharaonic instrument. Used in Egypt in certain types of music.

Where the people of Port Said usually at city's holidays make a "semsmya party" in different places in the streets of the valiant city to celebrate the victory holidays using this instrument and to the tune of folk songs.

Also it played a very important role in the period of the war of attrition in Egypt, as it was the first and most influential tool in the media war, as it was used by the simple inhabitants of the canal to inflame the feelings of patriotism and resistance among Egyptians.

خشبية، وتحمل في طياتها تاريخًا طويلاً مع مدن القناة بمصر و هي آلة وترية مصرية محلية لها جذورها في مصر القديمة كآلة فرعونية. تُستخدم في مصر في أنواع معينة من الموسيقى

حيث يقوم اهالى بورسعيد على فترات متقاربة و اوقات اعياد المدينة بعمل "ضمة سمسمية" باماكن مختلفة بشوارع المدينة الباسلة للاحتفال باعياد النصر باستخدام هذه الالة و على انغام الاغاني الشعبية.

لعبت آلة السمسمية في فترة حرب الاستنزاف في مصر دورًا مهمًا جدًا؛ حيث كانت الأداة الأولى، والأكثر تأثيرًا في الحرب الأعلامية؛ حيث استخدمها سكان القناة البسطاء لتأجيج مشاعر الوطنية والمقاومة عند المصريين.
