ประวัติความเป็นมา : เป็นวัดที่มีความสำคัญทางประวัติศาสตร์ทางสังคม คือเป็นวัดที่ตั้งอยู่ใกล้เขตแดนประเทศพม่า เป็นวัดพัฒนาตัวอย่างของจังหวัดระนอง และทางราชการได้ใช้เป็นประชุมและอบรมข้าราชการประชาชน ภายในวัดมีสถานที่ให้ประชานที่เดินทางไกลมาพักผ่อน และมีการจัดกิจกรรมอื่น ๆ ที่อำนวยประโยชน์ต่อการทำนุบำรุงพระพุทธศาสนาเป็นประจำ
